On 11 November 2025, the first transnational meeting of the European ShiftVET project was held in Yecla (Murcia, Spain). The aim of the project is to enhance the digital skills of professionals and Vocational Education and Training (VET) organisations in the wood and furniture sector.
During the meeting, project partners worked on planning the upcoming activities, which will focus on training in emerging technologies such as 3D printing, virtual reality, and other digital tools applied to the sector.
The meeting also served to strengthen collaboration among the different European partners and to lay the groundwork for the development of the training materials that will be produced in the coming months.
The following day, participants visited the IES Castillo Puche in Yecla, one of the consortium partners, where they had the opportunity to learn about its facilities, training programmes and strong commitment to educational innovation.
The SHIFT-VET project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and aims to contribute to the digital transformation of vocational education and training by promoting a more modern, flexible and labour-market-oriented education system.
