The first ShiftVET newsletter is here!
The ShiftVET- Digital Transformation for Wood and Furniture VET project has now published its first official newsletter. This edition presents the consortium’s initial progress and the first results obtained.
ShiftVET is a European project focused on providing i-VET teachers with the necessary knowledge to incorporate digital technologies into woodworking training, with the aim of promoting the digital transformation of VET programs and enhancing the appeal of traditional and manufacturing sectors.
The newsletter highlights the main milestones achieved so far:
- The first face-to-face meeting of the consortium was held in September, organized by CETEM and JLCP (Spain), where the lines of work and upcoming activities were defined.
- A report was prepared on advanced technologies with high potential for application in VET programs related to wood.
- Development of three practical guides for teachers and trainers on 3D printing, 3D scanning, and CNC, available in English, Spanish, Italian, and Latvian.
- Organization of internal workshops in Spain, Latvia, and Italy, attended by teachers, students, and industry representatives to analyze how to integrate these technologies into training programs.
Next steps:
The consortium will now work on compiling practical exercises related to the three technologies addressed and developing new activities with teaching templates ready for use in the classroom.
