The ShiftVET project is entering its final stage after several months of joint work focused on supporting vocational education and training centres in the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies.
Throughout the project, partners have worked closely with VET teachers, students and other relevant stakeholders to test and assess the use of technologies such as 3D printing, 3D scanning and CNC machining in practical learning environments. These activities have provided valuable feedback on how these tools can be integrated into vocational training in a realistic and accessible way.
As the project approaches its conclusion, the consortium is now concentrating on the final activities of Work Package 3. One of the main tasks currently underway is A3.1, focused on identifying and analysing existing training programmes and good practices related to the use of advanced manufacturing technologies in VET. This work includes the preparation of factsheets by the participating training centres and the review of relevant programmes and initiatives in different European countries.
At the same time, partners are finalising A3.2, the ShiftVET Implementation Guide. This document will bring together the main lessons learned during the project and provide practical guidance for VET centres interested in introducing technologies such as 3D printing, 3D scanning and CNC into their training offer. The guide will include recommendations on implementation, organisational requirements, teacher preparation, student involvement, good practices, sustainability and possible barriers to adoption.
During this final phase, the consortium will also consolidate the feedback collected from teachers, students and external VET organisations, complete the remaining project documentation and continue disseminating the main results among training providers, companies and other stakeholders.
These final activities will help ensure that the knowledge and resources developed through ShiftVET remain useful beyond the lifetime of the project, supporting other vocational education and training organisations that wish to strengthen the digital and technological skills of their learners.
