Yecla Furniture Fair, one of the most important events in the furniture industry.
The ShiftVET project continues to gain traction at various events. Yecla Furniture Fair is one of Spain’s leading trade fairs for the furniture and woodworking industry. Through CETEM’s exhibition stand, the project reached a wide audience of companies, vocational education providers, students, public authorities and other stakeholders interested in innovation and skills development.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to disseminate the objectives and ongoing activities of ShiftVET, highlighting its contribution to the modernisation of Vocational Education and Training (VET). Visitors were introduced to the project’s approach to bridging the gap between education and industry by promoting the integration of emerging industrial technologies into vocational training programmes.
During the fair, the ShiftVET consortium’s work on developing practical learning resources and educational materials was presented, with a particular focus on CNC machining, 3D printing and 3D scanning. These resources are designed to support VET providers in delivering more relevant, practice-oriented training that reflects current industrial needs and technological developments.
The exhibition also enabled valuable exchanges with representatives from companies, educational institutions and sector organisations. These discussions reinforced the importance of closer collaboration between industry and VET providers to ensure that future professionals acquire the technical and transversal skills required by an increasingly digitalised and technology-driven manufacturing sector.
Participation in the Yecla Furniture Fair formed part of ShiftVET’s dissemination strategy, helping to increase the project’s visibility, engage key stakeholders and promote the adoption of innovative educational approaches that contribute to a more skilled, resilient and future-ready workforce.
