What’s new with the ShiftVET project during April month?

The ShiftVET project is entering a new, more practical phase, where planning is gradually giving way to implementation. After months of groundwork focused on identifying relevant content and aligning approaches among partners, the consortium is now preparing to bring training activities closer to real classroom environments.

A key moment in this transition will be the upcoming consortium meeting, scheduled to take place in Riga on May 6–7. During these sessions, project partners will review the progress achieved so far, refine the structure of upcoming activities, and coordinate the next steps for the development and testing of training materials.

One of the main priorities at this stage is ensuring that the future exercises are not only technically sound, but also feasible within the constraints of vocational education centres. This includes considerations such as available equipment, time limitations in training programmes, and the varying levels of digital skills among learners.

In parallel, partners are advancing in the design of practical learning scenarios that combine 3D printing, 3D scanning, and CNC technologies in a coherent way. Rather than treating these tools in isolation, the project is working towards integrated workflows that reflect how these technologies are used in real production environments.

As ShiftVET continues to evolve, the focus is increasingly placed on usability and impact. The goal is not only to develop innovative materials, but to ensure they can be realistically adopted by VET providers across different contexts. The coming months will therefore be crucial in validating these approaches and translating them into effective training practices that respond to the current and future needs of the woodworking sector.
